FAMILY,
In the Šempeter fishing family, we have been taking exemplary care of our waters for years, so we can offer fly fishing for grayling, brown trout, rainbow trout and pike fishing in our flowing waters. In addition to fly fishing, we have excellent waters for whiting on barbel, chub, podust and cover. In stagnant waters, anglers can excel at catching carp, grass carp, pike and pike. The Šempeter fishing family is known for its large pike, pike and carp in the pond Preserje 2 and Braslovška jezera, and large walleyes in Savinja 6 and Savinja 7.
HISTORY,
On June 28, 1955, the unified municipality of Žalec was created by the merger of 10 smaller municipalities in the area of the Lower Savinska dolina. All this dictated the establishment of an independent fishing family for the municipality of Žalec. The founding general assembly was held on October 9, 1955 in the Šribar inn in Šempetro. Of the 54 organized members, 35 were present. The now deceased teacher Ivan Dolinar from Griž, an extraordinary connoisseur and lover of nature, was elected as the first president.
The fishing family adopted its rules at its first regular general meeting on January 22, 1956. On 21/12/1959, the Žalec Municipal People's Committee, by decision, assigned a fishing family to manage the Šempeter fishing district, which includes Savinja from the former dam in Letuš to the bridge in Petrovče. After the flood and the collapse of the dam in 1990, based on an agreement with RD Mozirje, the upper boundary of the district was moved to the bridge in Letuš. The family flag was developed by the family on June 30, 1968 as part of the celebration of the municipal holiday in Šempetro. Ideas about getting closer to other fishing families began to emerge. Thus, in 1974, the fishing family twinned with RD Podčetrtek subcommittee Kozje, in 1982 with RD Sotla-Podčetrtek and in 1995 with RD Ptuj. In 1974, RD set up an office in the building of the tourist association in Šempetro, then moved the headquarters of the association to the basement of the same building. From here, the family moved to the building of the local community in Šempetro and stayed there until 1995. Later, they moved to Žalec and stayed there until 1997. Because this building was not maintained, (turning off the water, there was no heating... ) and was finally sold, we were again forced to look for new premises. So the family moved back to Šempeter, namely to the building of the Agricultural Cooperative. It remained here until 2001, when we completed the premises in the newly built fishing home in Presarje for the needs of the fishing family. With the construction of ponds and the first fishing lodge in 1975/1976, the fishing family made it possible for the increasingly numerous members to fish even at a time when it is not possible in open waters. In 1978, the Fishing Family received the RZS - Order of Merit for Fishermen III. degrees with a flag.
The fastest growth in membership can be seen in the years 1970-1985, when the number of members increased by over 246%. The largest number was reached in 1987, when the family had 702 members and 92 young people. In the period 1987-2005, a 68% decline in membership can be observed, so that in 2014 we still have 225 members.
In 1980, we took over management of Lake Braslovče from the Braslovče Tourist Association and populated it with 10,000 people the same year. carp fingerlings. During the same period, the RD introduced management based on the delegate system. 9 constituencies were established, each unit had its representative in the board of directors and each unit had 10 representatives in the assembly. A new statute of the Fishing Family was also drawn up. The fishing lodge also felt the need to expand, so in 1981, the construction of an extension began, the opening of which took place a year later.
In 1985, a self-governing agreement was concluded between the local community, the Prebold Tourist Association and the Šempeter fishing family, to assign the Prebold pond to the administration of the Šempeter RD. In July 1985, RD celebrated its 30th anniversary. 152 awards were given to members for fishing merits and special recognitions to long-standing members and external collaborators. The fishing family received the RZS - Order of Merit for Fishing II. degrees with a flag. In celebration of the 35th anniversary of the RD, there is also a decoration - the Order for Fishery Merit, 1st degree with a flag.
The home operated for the needs of fishermen, but it was always a problem to get a good owner, so ideas about renting out the fishing home began to arise. And so on April 29, 1993, the first tender for renting a fisherman's home was published. The first rental contract for the fisherman's home was concluded in 1993 with Mrs. Anica Randl and lasted until 2000, when the contract was terminated due to the restoration of the home. Already in 1994, we bought a computer and all the necessary software equipment for proper management of RD, at that time the secretary was Mr. Stane Jurejevec. A year later, we hired a part-time secretary, Mrs. Helena Ferlež. After the adoption of the Law on Societies in 1995 and its amendments (ed. L. no. 49/3.7.1998 and no. 89/4.11.1999), we abolished membership units in 1997. Ideas and wishes for a new, larger fishing home arose as early as 1995, especially how to arrange an office in your home to get rid of unnecessary rent costs. However, the assembly at that time did not approve this plan, because the stake was too big for those times.
New ideas began to be realized in 1999, when we obtained all consents and guarantees from DARS and other contractors who participated in the construction of the highway in our basin, to compensate us for the damage caused, especially to the Bolska and Motnišnica streams, but in material form . So in 2000, we started building a new fishing lodge, completed the premises for the needs of RD and moved to Preserje in 2001. We also got a new tenant of the fisherman's home, who was ready to finish the home and equip it for catering. The Fisherman's House thus got a new look at the end of 2002, and at the beginning of 2003 it got a license to use it. During this time, the new Water Act came into force (10/08/2002), which changed all inland waters into a natural public good, and divided them into two quality classes. The Savinja River belongs to the 1st quality class.
